Reduce insecticide volumes

sprayer spraying oil solutionSummer spray oils are frequently used to control insect pests. Their efficacy depends on their ability to cover leaf surfaces and this process can be improved by the addition of alkysilicone (AS) products to the spray mix, which make the oil component more “oily”, and allows it to spread more evenly over leaves and pests.

Trials on a number of crops showed that ASs enhanced the insecticidal activity of oils. In some instances, plant phytotoxicity may limit the use of spray oils, but ASs have not been found to contribute to crop damage.
