Cummulative agrichemical residue tracking (CART)
Cummulative Agrichemical Residue Tracking is a programme to develop an Agrichemical Management System (AMS) which combines residue deposits from multiple applications on the same or adjacent sites.
The system incorporates spatial (GIS based) representation of site specific information and agrichemical deposits as predicted by a spray deposition/drift model (Agdisp) over a period of time (seasonal or multi-year). The system will also incorporate degradation and dissipation of agrichemical deposits and provide a record of their historical use. The influence of hedges or shelterbelts will also be part of the total management system.
The project includes some novel research involving:
- Evaluation and development of models for shelter belt wind flows;
- Use of metal cations as tracers for spray deposition field trials;
- Evaluation of the AGDISP ground boom spray drift model.
