Translocation: is the movement of absorbed chemical away from the uptake site. It depends on plant physiological effects and agrichemical molecular structure.
Adjuvants affect:
- Cell integrity (contact phytotoxicity).
- Short range translocation.
Adjuvants do not affect whole plant translocation; environmental and physiological factors are much more dominant.
Translocation in plants can be determined using radiolabelled compounds: either by extraction and quantification or by autoradiographic methods.
