Ordering Weed-a-Metre units and parts
The complete applicator comes in a box containing:
- Two bottles for holding the granules.
- A dispenser assembly fitted with two trigger insert sizes.
- Spare locking pad.
- Spreader cone pylon.
- Spreader cone base.
- Training rod to maintain height (900 mm).
- Instruction leaflets.

Weed-A-Metre spot size
The area of granule spread is determined by:
- The height at which the Weed-A-Metre is held.
- The application rate.
- The type of granule.
- Take care to hold the Weed-A-Metre so that the bottom of the cone is horizontal.
- On steep slopes it is recommended that the cone is positioned (10 to 20cm, 4 to 8inches) on the uphill side of the target.
Advice to users
The Weed-A-Metre was developed to spread granules in a 1.2 to 1.4m diameter circle over bare ground or over shrubs and trees.
It is designed to give:
- Accurate dispensing of granules
Even spread over operator-determined area (see spot size). - Granule movement is by gravity. Allow at least 2 seconds for the granules to exit before releasing the trigger to refill.
- For normal operation the height of the trigger from the ground needs to be:
0.9m to produce a 1.2m spot.
1.3m to produce a 1.4m spot. - The training rod supplied will maintain a 0.9m trigger height from the ground.
- An instruction leaflet for the EZidose dispenser is supplied with the Weed-A-Metre Granule Applicator.
- Various trigger sizes are available by changing colour coded inserts.
- Extra granules can be carried in a larger bottle (not supplied) attached to the operators belt.
- Standard thread (28mm) on dispenser with fit 500ml to 2L plastic bottle.
- Dispensing bottles or spare bottles containing granules should be clearly labelled with the name of the product in use.
- Avoid use in wet or windy weather.
- Always read the granule manufacturers recommendations and if necessary, consult their sales representative.
- It is recommended that a small tolerance trial is undertaken before using granules on previously untested species.

Instructions for use
Refer to EZidose section for trigger assembling.
- Select the appropriate trigger insert, fit into the trigger and assemble the dispenser as illustrated. Fit the bottle at this stage.
- Complete assembly with spreader cone pylon and spread cone base.
- Insert the training rod into the hole inside the yellow cone base and the Weed-A-Metre is ready for use.
- Proceed to the area to be treated and position the cone centrally over the target area or tree; depress the trigger the required number of times.
